Roosen is owner of best Belgian Barcelona pigeon of
over a five-year period. This is his 'Rosten' ring
number 90.5328339, the bloodlines of wich came from
the outstanding Dutch long distance fliers Frenken
Brothers. The performances of the 'Rosten' over the
past five years in the Barcelona national are as follows:
1992 - 438th Barcelona National (11,399 birds) ; 1993
- 180 th Barcelona National (13,343 birds); 1994 -149th
Barcelona National (11,214 birds); 1995 - 306th Barcelona
National (9,759 birds); 1996 - 800th Barcelona National
(10,068 birds). Barcelona to the loft of Pros Roosen
is 1,086 km (679 miles).
Other
prizes that the 'Roston' has won are 1991 - 181th
Provincial Argenton (1,141 birds); 1991 - 237 th Provincial
Jarnac (2,952 birds); 1991 - 51st Provincial La Souterraine
(364 birds); 1992 - 70th Provincial Brive (2,598 birds);
1992 - 259th National Narbonne (6,531 birds); 1993
- 32nd Regional Brive (1,006 birds); 1993 - 213th
National Narbonne (5,929 birds).
After
his fantastic succeess racing in the middle distance
and sprint races Pros developed an ambition to become
successful in the long and extra long distance races.
He studied the International results to find who were
the most regular scorers in all the International
races over several years and this investigation led
Pros to the loft of Frenken Brothers of Weer, Holland.
In 1990 Pros purchased several pigeons from their
loft and the success of 'Rosten' has proved how right
he was.

Roossen has been at the top of pigeon racing, not
only in this province of Limburg, but in all of Belgium
for over 30 years. |
I was very fortunate to have visited him for the first
time in 1979, and at that time his results were fantastic.
The main bloodlines then were from his father's loft
crossed with the Van Sweevelt and 'Fabiola' and 'Mona
Lisa' bloodlines from Jef Carlens. It was from these
bloodlines blended together that his outstanding pigeon
named 'Supercrack 327' was born in 1978, and he is
still alive in 1997. The bloodlines of 'Supercrack
327' are very much present in most of Pros Roosen's
ace pigeons such as 'De National' 1st National Bourges
in 1993, wich was bred from a grandson of 'Computer
I' when paired to e sister of 'Supercrack 327'.
In
1992 Pros Roosen had a pigeon selected to represent
Belgium in the Olympiade in Las Palmas in the sport
middle distance class. This pigeon, ring number 90.5328321
whose name became 'Olympiade', ws bred from a daughter
of 'Supercrack 327' when paired to 'Hond', wich was
also the father of 'Magic star' the 1st ace middle
distance pigeon of Belgium KBDB in 1994, bred by Pros
Roosen and raced by Jaak Koninx.

Sire
of 'Hond' was 'Computer II' winnner of thirteen 1st
prizes and 80 other prizes. He was also 1st ace pigeon
in the Province, short distance, KBDB 1989; 2nd ace
pigeon in the Province, short distance KBDB 1988;
5th ace pigeon of Belgium short distance KBDB 1988;
5th ace pigeon of Belgium short distance KBDB 1989
and 6th ace pigeon Provincial KBDB 1990. Dam of 'Hond'
was a daughter of 'Computer I' wich was an ace pigeon
of Belgium KBDB and was also ace pigeon BDS. |
Both 'Computer I' and 'Computer II' have the same
sire which was the famous 'Tom' of Jos Soontjes of
Wommelgem from whom Pros Roosens purchased the best
lines. Roosens purchased the best lines.
Another
outstanding pigeon for Pros Roosen was 'De Asduif'
which in 1991 was the 1st Ace Middle Distance pigeon
of the Province of Limburg and also 1st Ace pigeon
middle distance of the LDS 2,000.
This
crack pigeon also finds his origin in the Soontjes
x 'Supercrack 327' bloodlines. His sire was 'De
Raket' Which was an offspring of 'Computer I' and
dam of 'De Asduif', was a daughter of 'Supercrack
327'.
When
you read the list of prizes won by 'Supercrack 327'
you will agree that he has earned the name 'Supercrack
327'. As with his and all the other birds listed
these are single performaces without any duplication.
I am of the opinion that 'Supercrack 327' is the
best racing pigeon that has ever lived. I do not
know of a pigeon with a better racing record than
he has!
